Ingredients
- 1 pkg
- Odense Marzipan
- 200 g
- ¼ cup
- unsalted butter, room temperature
- 60 mL

- Bake Shop 100% Butter Croissants
- 275 g
- 1 tbsp
- icing sugar
- 15 mL
- 1½ tsp
- water
- 7 mL
- ½ tsp
- almond extract
- 2 mL
- ¼ cup
- Compliments Sliced Almonds
- 60 mL
Directions
Step 1
Position rack in centre of oven, then preheat to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment.
Step 2
Using a spoon, mash marzipan with butter in a medium bowl until well combined and is a spreadable consistency.
Step 3
Cut croissants in half horizontally, leaving a hinge on one side. Divide and spread marzipan mixture over bottom halves of each croissant. Sandwich with top half. Arrange croissants on prepared sheet.
Step 4
Stir icing sugar with water and almond extract in a small bowl. Brush a thin layer of almond syrup over tops of croissants. Sprinkle with sliced almonds.
Step 5
Bake until croissants are just crisp, about 10 mins. Sift more icing sugar overtop, if desired. Serve warm.
